Importance of Health and Fitness

Health and fitness is quite important in various aspects of our daily lives. Fitness is the key to being healthy while being healthy is the key to being fit. So is the co-dependence of the two. Apart from eating healthy, every day exercise is very important as it keeps your body in shape and reduces your chances of having a stroke or a heart attack. With millions of people suffering from chronic illnesses like diabetes, heart diseases, high blood pressure and colon cancer, being fit and healthy is what keeps these problems at bay. Public as well as private sectors need to get together and encourage more physical activity amongst people of all ages like walking programs in schools and in the local community. These will be an incentive to those who lead sedentary lifestyles to get up and be active and hence, be both healthy and fit.
